Budget Travel France exists to give you the real numbers. Not "Paris is expensive" hand-waving, but actual prices: what a hostel dorm costs in Lyon, how much the lunch formule runs, when to book trains for the cheapest fares, and which cities give you the most for your money.
How We Get Our Prices
Every price on this site comes from real sources — hostel booking platforms, SNCF train fares, bakery menus, market stalls, and traveler reports gathered in 2026. We update regularly and flag when prices are estimates. If we're not sure, we say so.
